We have been experiencing intermittent access to some of our storage shares.  As a result, we are performing a reboot of our storage devices which will cause a disruption in access from 9:00pm to 9:45pm.  Once the reboot is complete, we hope the issue to be resolved.  If you are still experiencing issues after the reboot is completed, please contact the Help Desk at helpdesk@rice.edu or at #4357.  
Emergency Maintenance on the following storage solutions will begin at 9:00pm.  Storage.rice.edu (individual storage and department shared storage)  Crate (file storage space for researchers)  RNAS (storage solution purchased by departments for archival storage, not research related OIT will perform rolling reboots to restore the previous OS version.  These services will remain online for most of the maintenance, but expect intermittent connection interruptions.

One of the switch in Baker Hall 2nd floor rebooted. Network management is investigating the root cause. Right now, all network service (wired/wireless) have been restored.

A power related event has occurred that affects a portion of the campus. Facilities is working to resolve the issue. At this time, the buildings that are confirmed to be without power are as follows: stadium, soccer, tennis, Tudor, and Moody Arts.  Notification will be sent when more information is available.

There is a power outage affecting a portion of the campus.  At this time, the following buildings do not have network connectivity: Moody Arts, Tennis Courts, and Soccer.  There is a possibility that more buildings will lose connectivity. Facilities is in route to assess.  An update will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.

The Greenbriar building has lost power.  Facilities is investigating. Notification will be sent when power and network connectivity has been restored.
Service has been restored. The ISP provider has located and repaired the fiber cut that was caused by a construction happening in the area. 
One of Rice's three commodity Internet service links is currently down.  Engineers are investigating the cause, but at this time there is no impact due to the existance of a backup connections to alternative locations and service providers. We will let everyone know when services are fully restored.

A network switch in Duncan Hall has encountered a problem resulting a partial outage on the area serviced by this switch. All network services has been restored. Please contact the Mudd Ops x4989 if you continue to have network issues.
Networking will be performing an emergency maintenance to one of the switch in Hanszen College which is experiencing heating issues. There will be a partial network outage in the building as we perform the maintenance. We expect to complete this activity in about 15-20 mins.
