Networking will be performing an emergency maintenance to one of the switch in Hanszen College which is experiencing heating issues. There will be a partial network outage in the building as we perform the maintenance. We expect to complete this activity in about 15-20 mins.

IBC Telephone System Restored
The telephone switch in the IBC build is experiencing issues.  Calls to and from the IBC Building are not going through.  Calls to extensions within the building are working. The OIT-Telecom team is working on restoring services as soon as possible. UPDATE: 1:09pm.  Software needs to be reinstalled.  Expect to take 60-90 minutes. RESOLVED: 2:52PM  IBC Phone Services have been restored.
ISSUE: SSH Login to CLEAR
Users are unable to SSH Login to CLEAR.  The Admin is currently investigating this issue. Updates will be posted online:  it.rice.edu

OIT Networking has detected a network failure for the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Graduate Apartments on Bissonnet.  Both wired and wireless connections appear to be down a this time.  Intermittent connectivity will be observed during our investigation and troubleshooting in our effort to fully restore connectivity.  Thank you for your patience.

The network switch on the 5th floor of Sid Richardson College is having memory issues, that may cause users to be unable to log into the network on the wired side at this time.  Wireless does not seem to be impacted at this time.  We in OIT Networking/Technical Services are working on a replacement and will have it out as soon as possible.  Thank you for your understanding.
Amazon AWS (Amazon Web Services) service offerings are now fully functional.  As a result, Canvas is now back online as well.

Users in the Anderson Clarke building are experiencing connectivity issues after the power outage earlier today.  OIT Networking is investigating and will update as soon as possible.
The tennis courts, soccer stadium, and south end of the Rice Stadium are offline at this time.  FE&P and OIT networking is working in concert to repair and update the issue.  Thank you for your understanding and patience.  
The planned changes to the Rice Mail system have been completed.  Please log a service ticket by visiting http://helpdesk.rice.edu or call the Help Desk at x4357 with any issues.
Planned changes to the Rice Mail system will begin at 6:00am.  These changes are needed to tie in RiceMail to the Proofpoint on Demand cloud service, which is being tested as a replacement for Dspam.  No service interruption is anticipated.
