Banner 9 system maintenance has been completed. Please report any issues to the Help Desk (x4357).
Banner 9 will be inaccessible for urgent system maintenance. During this period, Banner 9 admin pages will be unavailable. Banner INB will be available if administrative access is required. All other Banner features - Esther, Edgar, etc - will be available. 
The Rice Webmail issues are resolved. If you still experience issues, please start a new webmail session in your browser. If you continue to have issues, log a ticket at help.rice.edu.  
Some Rice faculty, staff, and graduate students are experiencing issues with Rice Webmail. Rice OIT is currently  investigating.
Duo - Normal Operations
The issue with Duo, our two factor authentication system, was corrected by Duo Security.  They are continuing to monitor the situation to ensure that other problems do not arise, but we are back to normal.

Duo, our two factor authentication system, is experiencing an outage.  Any service or system protected by Duo may be unavailable. Duo Security is aware of the problem and they are working to correct the issue.  Their status can be found at  https://status.duo.com/ We are continuing to monitor the situation and will update our own status page with updates at https://status.rice.edu/.

Our upstream provider (SETG) has resolved the hardware failure in their equipment. Websites that have intermittent connectivity should be stable now. Some sites may take more time for our routes to converge. Kindly contact the Helpdesk at x4357 if you continue to have problems. 
One of our upstream provider - Southeast Texas GigaPOP (SETG) has detected a hardware failure in their equipment. They are currently working to resolve the issue. No estimated time of repair yet.  SETG is our access provider to Internet2, LEARN and other state institution.

The Rice Marketplace and Banner sync issue has been resolved. The requisitions and POs are syncing from Rice Marketplace to Banner successfully.

Jaggaer, the vendor of Rice Marketplace system has fixed the issue on the Jaggaer's Indirect Platform. Rice Marketplace is functional and working normally.

Rice Marketplace is currently experiencing connectivity issues due to a problem on the Jaggaer's platform (Jaggaer is the vendor of Rice Marketplace system). OIT/AESS middleware/database team encountered technical difficulties during the planned Banner eProcurement database upgrade on Sunday, 7/29/2018 from 7 AM to 12 PM. The DBA has rolled back the database to pre-upgrade state. Rice Marketplace has been tested, and it's functional and working as expected. We will work with Oracle support to troubleshoot the issue, and will schedule a new date for Banner eProcurement database upgrade at change control meeting.

OIT experienced problems with the Windows authentication system this afternoon. This affected access to network storage (personal homes and department shares), the wireless (WiFi) & wired networks and the Exchange email system.  If you tried to update your password, AD blocked the change. Your original password was not changed. Please use your original password.  OIT has implemented a fix for user accounts within the Active Directory Domain and the problem should be corrected.…

We are experiencing issues with Windows Authentication.  If your machine is locked and you are prompted to reset your password,  DO NOT reset passwords. Server Administrators are working on the issue
