IAM Maintenance Complete
The maintenance of the IAM servers is complete.  All services, Rice SSO (Shibboleth/CAS), Grouper, and the Wiki's (Docs/Wiki) are currently running. If you experience any issues please submit a ticket to help@rice.edu.

Morning,   svn.rice.edu needs to be reverted back to the previous version.  With great reluctance, I must revert the systems that make up svn.rice.edu to the previous version.  Under actual system load, several areas have shown their weakness and rather than attempt to fix these on the fly, I believe it will be better to revert to the previous version of snv.rice.edu   This will happen at 1:30 PM today and should take less than an hour to complete.…
OwlDB Emergency Maintenance –  Friday 8/19 from 10:00pm – 11:00pm An Emergency reboot of the OwlDB server is needed to address recent issues with logging in.   The reboot will cause a brief interruption in Authentication services. The network name, filearchive.rice.edu, has been temporarily removed from service. The final data checks have begun.   Once the data checks have completed, and any remaining data movements done. we will begin presenting from the new server. The new server will have the same name, filearchive.rice.edu, but the IP number and some file sharing names will be different for some users.

The upgraded NFS server for clear.rice.edu is now in place.  No reboot of the compute nodes was required. Please create a Request Tracker ticket if there are any problems.  
The NFS server for the clear.rice.edu collection of systems is now ready to come back into service after an operating system upgrade. This will happen between 8:00AM and 8:30AM today and may involve rebooting the compute nodes to work correctly.  Any users on clear will receive notification prior to the reboot. filearchive.rice.edu will be off-line for firmware upgrades to affiliated storage systems beginning at 4:30pm. The maintenance is expected to take less than one hour.
