IT discovered that mail sent from rice.edu addresses to yahoo.com addresses (forwarded or sent directly) were being deferred or delayed for 1-2 days, due to problems in the Yahoo mail system. There are no problems with rice.edu mail. We are following Yahoo's posted procedures to correct the problem for messages sent in the last two days. Previously held messages are being delivered now, and the problem will resolve itself in the next few hours.

The Rice VPN system is currently experiencing some issues related to the configuration changes made last week. Networking is aware of this and is in the process of resolving them. We will post a notice when it is back on-line.

The email issues have been resolved. The problem seems to have been limited to undergraduate student email accounts and may have resulted from a mis-configured Google server.

VPN service is still offline at this time. IT Networking is currently working on the issue and will advise when the service is available.
IT Networking will begin maintenance on the VPN service at 7am. VPN users may experience intermittent connectivity for approximately 1 hour.
The VPN service, which is used to connect to secure Rice networks, will be unavailable Tuesday morning for maintenance.
Beginning at 7AM, existing VPN connections will be dropped and any new connections will be unsuccessful for approximately one hour.
