The network maintenance in BioScience Research Collaborative 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor is complete.  Please contact the Help Desk (x4357) if you have any connectivity issues. Machines may need a reboot to restore proper connectivity.

The Office of Information Technology will be performing upgrades to the BioScience Research Collaborative network closets starting at 05:30 AM on Saturday of this week (August 29th).  Users will have intermittent connectivity on both wired and wireless during this process.  Users will need to reboot their devices upon completion of the upgrade in that area.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Campus Wide Power Blip

There was a campus wide power blip affecting wired and wireless network services. Network Management is monitoring for services to return.

OIT will be performing maintenance on some network traffic management equipment beginning at 7:00am on Saturday morning August 22. The system is designed to be highly available, so no service outages are expected.

OIT alerts will be sent just prior to the start of the work and just after it has been completed.

This storage system is used to archive static and unused data by departments and some research groups.

 

The filearchive.rice.edu  system will be unavailable from 17:00 8/19/2015 until 08:00 on 8/20/2015;   during the service maintenance window.

 

OIT will post another alert when the service is back online. 

 

This work is a necessary part of OIT's preparations for the upcoming school semester.   Customer usage statistics show that this time frame affects the fewest Rice community members.

The Office of Information Technology Network Management team has detected an anomaly in some hardware in APB 1803 netwok closet.  We are resetting the hardware and users will need to reboot their computers.
