Amazon AWS (Amazon Web Services) service offerings are now fully functional.  As a result, Canvas is now back online as well.

Amazon has been experiencing problems with their AWS (Amazon Web Services) service offerings for the last few hours.  All we do know, at this point, is that Canvas has been affected.  If you are subscribed to any of the AWS services, here is a link (https://status.aws.amazon.com/) to their status page that will give you the latest information regarding the repair of AWS.

OIT Networking has completed the maintenance in IBC building.  Network connectivity has been restored. Please report any issues to the Help Desk (x4357).

OIT Networking will be performing maintenance on the network devices in IBC location starting at 6:00am.  Notification will be sent at completion.

The anomalous router at Jones College has been rebooted and is back in service at this time.  Thank you.

OIT / Network Management has detected an anomaly in one of the redundant routers at Jones College.  We will be rebooting that router at 10:00 AM this morning to collect further log data for analysis.  Users should see no impact to their traffic during this exercise.  Thank you.

OIT Networking has resolved the network connectivity issue at Anderson Clarke.  Please report any further issues to the Help Desk (x4357).

Users in the Anderson Clarke building are experiencing connectivity issues after the power outage earlier today.  OIT Networking is investigating and will update as soon as possible.

The tennis courts, soccer stadium, and south end of the Rice Stadium are offline at this time.  FE&P and OIT networking is working in concert to repair and update the issue.  Thank you for your understanding and patience.  

The planned changes to the Rice Mail system have been completed.  Please log a service ticket by visiting http://helpdesk.rice.edu or call the Help Desk at x4357 with any issues.

Planned changes to the Rice Mail system will begin at 6:00am.  These changes are needed to tie in RiceMail to the Proofpoint on Demand cloud service, which is being tested as a replacement for Dspam.  No service interruption is anticipated.

Core Network Maintenance is now complete. Please report any issues to the Help Desk (x4357).
