Jaggaer, the vendor of Rice Marketplace system has notified us that they've located the cause of the issue and had the services restored to normal operating condition. Jaggaer will be deploying a permanent software patch this evening. We will continue to monitor the Rice Marketplace connectivity and performance. Rice Marketplace is currently experiencing connectivity issues due to a problem on the Jaggaer's platform (Jaggaer is the vendor of Rice Marketplace system). Jaggaer is aware of the issues and currently working to resolve them as soon as possible. This will result in Rice Marketplace intermittently being unavailable during this time. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. We will keep you posted of any progress.

The wireless network for visitors to Rice (Rice Visitor) is currently unstable.  Rice OIT is investigating the issue. As soon as we have more information, we will send an update.

The planned wireless network maintenance will begin at 9:00pm.  During this period, users will experience intermittent connectivity as we perform this work.  An update will be sent when complete.  

OIT/AESS middleware/database team encountered technical difficulties during the planned Banner eProcurement database upgrade on Sunday, 7/29/2018 from 7 AM to 12 PM. The DBA has rolled back the database to pre-upgrade state. Rice Marketplace has been tested, and it's functional and working as expected. We will work with Oracle support to troubleshoot the issue, and will schedule a new date for Banner eProcurement database upgrade at change control meeting.

AntiVirus Migrations

Campus Services will be performing a planned antivirus migration at 12 PM on the following buildings: Anderson-Clarke Continuing Studies, Baker Hall, Dell Butcher Hall, Duncan Hall, Fondren, Herman Brown Hall, Herring Hall, Keck Hall, Lovett Hall, Moody Center for the Arts, Mechanical Engineering Bldg, Rich Student Health, Sewall Hall, and Tudor Field House.

OIT experienced problems with the Windows authentication system this afternoon. This affected access to network storage (personal homes and department shares), the wireless (WiFi) & wired networks and the Exchange email system.  If you tried to update your password, AD blocked the change. Your original password was not changed. Please use your original password.  OIT has implemented a fix for user accounts within the Active Directory Domain and the problem should be corrected.

Windows Authentication Issues

We are experiencing issues with Windows Authentication.  If your machine is locked and you are prompted to reset your password,  DO NOT reset passwords.

Server Administrators are working on the issue

OIT will perform maintenance on the campus storage systems as part of a hardware refresh beginning at 6:00pm. During this work there will be brief intermittent delays in accessing files on storage.rice.edu and crate.rice.edu. A notification will be sent at the completion of the work.

Users are reporting issues will sending email. The message "failed" to send messages and SMTP login failures,  We have identified a mail system hardware failure. The services have been restored.
